David Hudson

February 28, 1929 — January 28, 2018

Hudson, David F. "Pete" - of Flint age 88, died peacefully at home on January 28, 2018 with his family at his side. A memorial service will be held 12 PM Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of service. David was born February 28, 1929 at Holly Grove, Arkansas and grew up in DesArc. He later moved to Michigan, making it his home. David was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, a member of First General Baptist Church (Hemphill Rd), Genesee Lodge #174, a life member of the Bay City Consistory, and a member of the Shriners Elf Khurafeh Temple. David dedicated his life to caring for his family. In his spare time he enjoyed camping, fishing, and simply "communing with nature." He retired from the Teamsters as an independent trucker, but continued driving with his own car hauling business until he was 82. David was a wonderful man, a loving husband, father and friend. He was kind and generous to everyone giving help when needed and asking nothing in return. David is preceded in death by his parents (James F. and Hatie M. Hudson), brother, James Ray (Donnetta) Hudson; sister Lucille (Miles) Tippett; brothers-in-law, Melvin Brown and Roy Rogers. He leaves behind his wife Bonnie J. of 61 years; daughters, Susan Hudson, Kimberly Locher (Joe Hallem); sisters, Flossie Brown, Ann Evans, Janie Rogers, and many loved nieces, nephews and friends. A Special thanks to Nephew Larry Crewse, Reverence Hospice and special nurse Denise. In lieu of flowers, Davids wish is that donations be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital or the Genesee County Humane Society.
