HOLLAR, Dr. David Gene - Age 77, of Fenton, died Friday, December 5, 2008 at University Hospitals, Ann Arbor. A Memorial Service will be held 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church of Fenton, 503 S. Leroy St, Fenton, with Pastor Dale Swihart officiating. Burial will be in South Lyon Cemetery, South Lyon. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Home, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Monday from 1-4 and 6-9 PM and Tuesday from 1-4 PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to First Presbyterian Church of Fenton. Dr. Hollar was born May 28, 1931 in Ypsilanti, the son of Earl David and Rachel Margaret (Roark) Hollar. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Gwendolyn Phillips August 23, 1974 in Flint. Dr. Hollar was a dentist in Fenton for 45 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Fenton and had also been a member of the Fenton Kiwanis. Surviving are: wife, Gwendolyn; 2 daughters, Miriam Hollar and husband David Schulingkamp of Petoskey and Lorraine Greathouse and husband Ronald of Nashville, TN; 5 grandchildren, Thomas, Lashley and Rachel Schulingkamp of Petoskey and Ariana and Phillip Greathouse of Nashville, TN; sister, Virginia Gies of Hastings; brother, Edward Hollar of Clio; several nieces and nephews.
