David Lee HAYES

December 9, 1934 — April 29, 2010

HAYES, David Lee - age 75, of Tawas, formerly of Flint, died Thursday, April 29, 2010 at St. Mary's Health System in Saginaw. Services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. David was born December 9, 1934 in Elkin, North Carolina, the son of Lee Roy and Reba (White) Hayes. He married Mary Beckwith Cowan on December 9, 1978. David retired from General Motors in 1990 and retired to Tawas. He enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, fishing and watching sports. Surviving are: wife, Mary of Tawas; two sons, Terry Hayes Patterson and wife, Julie of NC, Daniel David Hayes and wife, Monta Kay of Byron; two step-sons, Ronald Michael Cowan and wife, Jamie of Swartz Creek, Steven Allen Cowan and wife, Destiny of Flint; 11 grandchildren, Jessica, Emily, Luke, Jordan, Jesika, Samantha, McKenzie, Casie, Bryce, Chelsea and Hunter; great-granddaughter, Serenity; parents, Lee Roy and Reba Hayes; sister, Ann Garner and husband, Andy; mother and father-in-law, Agnes and Bob Beckwith; sister-in-law, Bev Beckwith; aunt, Jean Steele; many nieces and nephews, best friend, Lee Sayer and numerous other friends.
