David was born on September 16, 1953, in Buffalo, New York, and spent his life in Linden, Michigan, where his home had an open door, filled with warmth and generosity. As a mechanical engineer, he contributed significantly to his field, driven by a passion for innovation and precision. Despite these struggles, David remained a source of strength and support for his family.

David was always willing to help others and was selfless in making their lives easier. His generosity and unwavering dedication touched many lives, creating a lasting impact on everyone he met. He supported his family and friends with a ride-or-die mentality, always prioritizing the well-being of others over himself.

David loved spending time with his family, participating in bicycling tours and events, and watching football games. He was known for his sense of humor and the joy he brought through inside jokes that will last forever.

David is survived by his Son, Ryan Griffiths; Ryan's siblings, Jay Casteel and Takita Bovitz (Nick); his grandchildren, Sarah and Noah Griffiths; his brother, Hugh Griffiths (Kelly); his nieces, Emily and Heather Griffiths; his former wife, Tara Sellers (Patrick); honorary sons, Alex Bales and Gregg Thomason (Emily); and his beloved dogs, Rex and Buddy, who brought him companionship. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Griffiths, and his mother, Norma Griffiths. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

David's legacy of selflessness, support, and encouragement continues through the lives he touched. His family and friends are committed to honoring his wishes by carrying forward his spirit of kindness and resilience.

A celebration of David's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please spend time with your friends and family and make those moments and memories count, just as David would have wanted.
