David Eckstein

ECKSTEIN, David J., age 52 of Lennon, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Mclaren Regional Medical Center. David was born in Cadillac, MI on July 18, 1956 and has lived in the Lennon area most of his life. On October 14, 1983 he and Paula Taylor were married in Lennon. He was employed by Automotive Component Carriers in Flint the past 13 years. David was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and reading. He loved western movies and books, carpentry and woodworking. David was very outgoing, caring and a hard working person loved by family and friends and always was willing to give a helping hand. Surviving are his wife Paula; 3 daughters, Shawnda and husband Steve Dykes, Shanyn, and Sami. He was known as Poppi to grandson, Ayden and granddaughter, Ashlynn. Also surviving are his mother, Elaine Tallman; 4 sisters, Cheryl and husband Daniel McMahon, Betty Eckstein, Barbara and husband Chris Schindler, Helen and husband Jerry Pettit, 1 brother Robert Eckstein and wife Marsha and several nieces, nephws.David was preceded by a daughter, Shaina and his father, Ken Tallman. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 13, 2008 at the Sharp Funeral Home, 8138 Miller Rd. Pastor Ron Nelson will officiate and burial will follow at Yerian Cemetery.
