David Leslie Brochu

December 4, 1929 — February 20, 2007

Brochu, David Leslie, 77 of Grand Blanc passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2007 .  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Saturday,  February 24, 2007 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Grand Blanc. The family will receive friends at the church starting at 12:00 noon Saturday. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation  will be 5-8 pm Thursday, 1-4 pm & 6-8 pm with a Rosary to be prayed at 3pm and a Vigil Service prayed at 7:00 pm Friday at the Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center Chapel, 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc, Twp.  David was born December 4, 1929 in Flint, Michigan the youngest of  8 children to Edward Leo and Anna Mae (Shirley) Brochu.  He resided most of his life in Grand Blanc.  David graduated from Grand Blanc High School Class of 1947.  One of his proudest accomplishments in life was attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.  David loved coaching and spent many years coaching football, basketball and baseball at Holy Family Catholic School as well Grand Blanc Parks and Recreation summer baseball. He enjoyed refereeing football for over 25 years and was an active participant in the Holy Family 55 and Over Group. David married Agnes Christine Brakora on June 3, 1950. He was a Journeyman Electrician working for General Motors until retiring in 1980.    He is survived by his wife, Agnes; children Donna (Bob) Turmell, Patricia Dobbs, Marjorie (Tom) Griggs, Barbara (Jack) Kohn, Mark (Katy), Lloyd (Katie), Roy, Richard (Mary), Thomas (Laura), grandchildren, Rob (Michelle), Teri (Jeremy), Shelly, Cheryl, Jodi( Eric), Evan, Eric, John, Will, Peter, Kristina, Valarie, Sarah, David, James, Patrick, Jake, Carter, Pearl and Emily; sister M. Shirley King.  He was preceded in death by an infant son, James and son-in-law, Jerry Dobbs.
