ALGER, David Sterling - age 84, of Linden passed away December 6, 2021. A memorial service will be held 12 PM Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Freedom Center Kingdom Builders. David was born July 20, 1937 in Columbus, OH, the son of Warden Brown and Ruth Sterling (Nimocks) Alger. He was a graduate of The University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University, where he majored in Biology and Chemistry. For 10 years, he worked for Merck and Co. in the pharmaceutical sales division. He served as a three term Council Member for The Village of Linden and was a member of the Board of Appeals. Mr. Alger served with the Tall Pines Council, Flint and was the co-founder of Pack and Troop 111, Linden Presbyterian Church. He was a founding member, past president and served 16 years as a Board member of The Michigan Association of Gift Salesmen in Northville. He was the president and founder of Alger Sales Associates. David was a member of The Freedom Center in Fenton. He is survived by his wife, Pat; children, David Alger II of Punta Gorda, FL, Nancy (Mark) Bowsher of Punta Gorda, FL, Steve (Dawn) Alger of Bellaire, Susan (Nick) Bishop of Shelby Township and Andy (Debbie) Alger of Linden; 10 beloved grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
