Darwin Severson

SEVERSON, Darwin Henry - Age 85, of Fenton, died Thursday, December 7, 2017. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 11, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Bob Hopkins officiating. Burial in Beebe Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 1-7 PM and Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Wounded Warriors Project. Darwin was born May 24, 1932 in Flint, the son of Henry and Beulah (Lansing) Severson; and he was raised in Clare. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. St. Paul. He married Grace Cecelia Spohn October 1, 1960 in Flint. He had been a watch repairman for 10 years, then retired from GM in Drayton Plains. Surviving are: his wife of 57 years, Grace; 4 children, Valerie (Bernie) Nolan of California, Jerry Dean (Julie Stockdale) Woods of Silverwood, Ted (Kimberly) Woods of Flushing, and Sherry (LeRoy) Agle of Fenton; 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
