HENDRICKS, Darwin E. - Age 67, of Swartz Creek, died October 14, 2006 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral services will be held 11AM Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Dr. Olaf Liedums officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 11AM-3PM and 5-8PM Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family to distribute to numerous charities. Darwin was born November 20, 1938 in Flint the son of William and Carrie Lorraine (Moore) Hendricks. He attended the Center for Gerontology and was a member of Bristol United Methodist Church. Darwin was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and collected stuffed dogs. He is survived by his mother, Carrie Lorraine Hendricks; 2 sisters, Dorrine Dallas of Swartz Creek, Althea Huffman and companion, Richard Christopher of Flint; nine nieces and nephews, Deb (Bob) Kirby, who were his special caretakers, Ron (Ronda) Huffman, Cindy (Marty) Haugh, Tom (Denise) Huffman, Tim (Lisa) Huffman, Ken (Patty) Huffman, Karen (Mike) Dailey, Roger (Mary) Dallas, Kathy Upton; 25 great-nieces and nephews; seven great-great-nieces and nephews; his special family at Kent's Assisted Living. He was preceded in death by: his father and 2 brothers-in-law, Samuel Huffman and John Dallas. The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of Hurley Medical Center and Avalon Hospice for their love and support.
