TOBIAS, Darrell Dean - Age 85, of Fenton, passed away October 29,2023. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, November 3, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. (The funeral service may be viewed by livestream at Mr. Tobias' page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.) Visitation will be held 11 AM until the time of service at 1 PM on Friday November 3. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Community Foundation of Fenton or Grand Blanc Fields Assisted Living and Mid-Michigan Hospice.
Darrell was born August 9, 1938 in Flint, the son of Lawrence Smith Tobias and Beatrice Marie (Kirkpatrick) Tobias. In 1956, Darrell graduated from Beecher High School. He then studied at Mott Community College through the University of Chicago College of Traffic and Transportation Management. He married Annetta Meyer on September 3, 1960 in Flint. He was employed by CSX Railroad as a superintendent, retiring in 2003 with 46 years of service. He was a member of Fenton Township Service Club, Lake Fenton Property Owners Association and the Moose Lodge. Darrell enjoyed golfing, boating, working in his yard and being with his family. His favorite places to visit were Bermuda and Myrtle Beach. Darrell is survived by his wife of 63 years, Annetta; sister, Wanda Brink; many nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and great-nephews and many great-great nieces and great-great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Adella Wildman, Jean DeDominces, Joann Corleu, Betty Redman and Mona Beach; brothers, Robert Tobias and Leo Tobias.
