Darol Paul Collins

COLLINS, Darol Paul - age 87, of Fenton, passed away, Monday October 16, 2023.  Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Friday, October 20, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1025 Main St., Fenton.  Pastor Peter Ahlersmeyer officiating.  Interment will follow 2:30 Friday in Glen Eden Cemetery, Livonia.  Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton; and 10-11 AM Friday at the church.  Those desiring may make contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church of Fenton.

Darol was born May 29, 1936 in Toledo, OH, the son of Paul T. and Violetta (McGranahan) Collins.  He was a graduate of Waite High School in Toledo, OH. Darol later received his B.S. Degree from Lawrence Technology University. He retired from Chrysler Corp. as an Engineer with over 40 years of service with them. Darol married Charlene G. Reikowski on March 6, 1999 in Holly.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Fenton and a previous member of Holy Savior Lutheran Church in Detroit. Darol also served as the Sunday School Superintendent at Hosanna- Tabor Lutheran Church of Redford.  Darol enjoyed fishing, golfing, and bowling.  He was also a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan and a W.W.F. Wrestling fan.  

Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Charlene; his children, Timothy (Elizabeth) Collins, and Lori Collins; step sons, Karleton Kampf, Kurt (Ellen) Kampf, Kevin (Shannon) Kampf, Kyle Kampf; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Ruthann Warns; brother, Vernon Collins; and several nieces and nephews.
