Darlene Carol HALKA

HALKA, Darlene Carol -- Age 70, of Swartz Creek, died January 8, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday, January 14 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday, 2-8 PM Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Salvation Army. Darlene was born July 22, 1939 in Flint the daughter of Darrell and Madeliene (Griniger) Collins. She married James Edward Halka January 3, 1962 in Grand Blanc, and he has preceded her in death March 17, 2007. She was a graduate of Swartz Creek High School and had resided in Swartz Creek most of her life. She retired from McLaren Regional Medical Center as a Unit Clerk. Surviving are: two children, Karen Annette and husband James Feger of Ypsilanti, Alan Scott and wife Anitha Halka of Lake Worth, FL; grandchildren, Lily Feger and Raj Halka; sister Barbara and husband Roger Bulley; sister-in-law Frieda Parker; brother, Dale and wife Anna Collins; brother, Lee and wife Leonora Long; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Darrell Collins; and sisters, Beverly Presley and Diana Collins.
