Dante Hector BESSOLO

BESSOLO, Dante "Don". -- Age 81, of Byron, died January 14, 2011 at his residence. Services will be held 11:00AM Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 5-8PM Sunday and Noon-8PM Monday. A Memorial Service will be held Monday at 7PM under the auspices of VFW, AM VETS, and American Legion. Mr. Bessolo was born April 6, 1929 in Flint, the son of Felix and Mary (Capello) Bessolo. Dante was a graduate of Flint Northern High School and attended Flint Junior College and GMI. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army serving in WWII. Dante worked for General Motors for 36 years before he retired in Engineering 1986. He loved to hunt, fish and golf. Surviving is his loving wife of 61 years Gwen; daughter, Mary (Doyle) Martin of Swartz Creek; sons, Robert (Darlene) Bessolo of Flint, Rocky (Christina) Bessolo of Burton; eight grandchildren, Dana Massimino, Courtney and Greg Hummel, Kim Martin, Chris Martin, Justin Bessolo, Mallory Bessolo, Jennifer and Brandt Foust, Eric and Brenda Bessolo, and Daniel and Sarah Bessolo, seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Felix Bessolo, sisters Clara Schneider and Mamie, son William J. Bessolo in 2002. A special thanks to Linda, Sarah and Shylan from Hospice.
