Daniel John Glomson

March 24, 1933 — December 13, 2005

GLOMSON,  Daniel John, age 72 of Flint, died at Hurley Medical Center, Tuesday December 13, 2005.  He was born in Flint on March 24, 1933 a son of Valentine G. and Hattie (Suchon) Glomson and was a lifelong resident of the area.  Mr. Glomson was a plumber and worked for the Pipefitters and Plumbers Union LocaL #370.  He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army.  He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 695, a member of the Fenton Moose.  He had attended St. John Catholic Church in Davison and later, Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Burton.  Mr. Glomson was avid gardener, especially enjoyed his pumpkin patch, he liked to build things, tinker with things and do volunteer work at group homes.  Surviving is loving life partner,  Mary Laird of Flint, his children,  Michael Conroy (Teresa) of Yuba City, California, Mary Crites (Greg) of Apple Valley, MN, Daniel Glomson (Brenda) of Grand Blanc, Sean Glomson (Kelly) of Lincoln, California, Andrew Glomson of Grass Valley, California and Annemarie Sullivan (Butch) of Salinas, California.  Further survivors are grandchildren; Brittany, Chase and Aidan Conroy, Lauren and Elizabeth Glomson Kaetlyn and Kathrin Sullivan.  Brothers and sisters,  Henrietta Sordyl, Beatrice Bobbitt, Donna Vowell, Deloras Drake, Marge Kravat (Ernie), Fred Glomson (Shirley), Chester Glomson (Nancy) and Judy Gordon (Jim) and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Loretta and Pat and brothers, David and Valentine.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated 12 Noon Saturday, December 17, 2005 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E. Bristol Rd.  Rev. Fr. William Wegher celebrant.  Burial will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery with military honors presented by the Fenton V.F.W. Post 3243. The family will be receiving friends at the Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. (Just South of Hill Rd.) from 2 to 8 P.M. Friday.   Saturday, Mr. Glomson will lie in state at the church from 11:00 A.M. until service time.   Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Disabled American Veterans.
