Daniel "Dixie" Richard McHugh

McHUGH, Daniel Richard (Dixie), longtime resident of Linden/Fenton, died on his 90th birthday, December 12,2024 at Wellbridge of Fenton. He was born December 12, 1934 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Frank R. and Catherine (Swider) McHugh. Dixie was a 1953 graduate of Lincoln High School in Warren. He was in the building industry all his life. He enjoyed singing in both choir and barbershop quartets for many years. Dixie was a member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartets in America (SPEBSQSA). He is survived by: his children, Debra (John) Smeltzer, Sheree (George) Roykouff, Daniel (Alicia) McHugh, and Robert McHugh, all of Fenton. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Sawyer, Laine, Tanya, Jamie, Jas, Emma, Sydney, Kelsey; and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice (Hobby) McHugh and son Brian McHugh. On January 24, 2025 at 2 PM, family and friends are invited to a short memorial during the interment of his cremated remains at Fairview Cemetery, 132 E. Broad St., Linden.
