POWELL, Dallas Earl - Age 100, of Swartz Creek, long-time former resident of Fenton, died Monday, September 13, 2021. Funeral services will be held 11AM Thursday, September 23, at Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church, 10235 White Lake Road, Fenton. Burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held 4PM-8PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Visitation will also be held 10AM until time of service at the church. Dallas was an elder of the Presbyterian Church for over 50 years; in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Dallas was born June 29, 1921 in Linden, Michigan, the son of Clifford and Myrtle (Rummell) Powell. He married Rose Anna Buffmyer in Fenton on March 14, 1942 and she preceded him in death on April 6, 2018. Dallas proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a family man who hand-built two homes, enjoyed woodworking of fine furniture, camping and salmon fishing in northern Michigan. He retired from General Motors Grand Blanc, Fisher Body Plant with 35 years of service. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling the country with Rose in their camper.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Hajec; granddaughter, Kimberly (John) Raymond; grandson, Michael Powell; great-grandchildren, Michael, Josh, Sean; step-grandchildren, Theresa Hajec, Gregory (Annette) Hajec, Dan (Shannon) Hajec, step great-grandchildren, Allison, Andrew, Dru, Trey, Brady, Brendan; sisters, Barbara Wardlow, Jeannie (Bob) Faught, Connie Ignace; brother, Richard Powell; numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Myrtle Powell, son, Dallas Roy Powell; grandson Dallas Scott Powell; son-in-law Walter Hajec; brothers, Carroll Powell, Wayne Powell, Gerald Powell, Herbert Powell; sister, Minerva Wyckoff. Most recently, Dallas lost step-grandson, Patrick Hajec September 16th.
