Dallas Kay Banghart

Dallas K. Banghart, age 87, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Ascension Genesys, Grand Blanc. Private arrangements were entrusted to Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. 

Dallas was born on December 27, 1935, in Sterling, Michigan the son of the late Olin and Ethel (Kerr) Banghart. He graduated from Sterling High School. Dallas worked for GM Truck and Bus for 42 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Durand Sportsman Club. Dallas enjoyed hunting, riding his motorcycle, skiing and carpentry. Where he found his real joy was spending time with his family. 

He is survived by his children, Angelia VanWoert, Juanita (Rick) Bejin, Athena Asher and Michelle (William) Staley; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; brother, Alex Banghart; and many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Dallas was preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Smithingell; siblings, Erskane, Orlin, Verna Jean, Dale and Vonda. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
