Dale DeLeale Staley passed away October 16, 2024 at home in the company of his loving wife Katherine. Dale was born August 14, 1942 at his family home in Whigville, Genesee County, Michigan to Ray E. Staley and Doris I. (DeLisle) Staley. Dale married his wife of 64 years Katherine L. (Dayton) Staley in Columbiaville, Michigan on June 18, 1960. 

He is survived by Katherine and his children: Debra I. (Paul) Blackwell, Judith A. Staley, Christine M. Staley, Dale D. Staley, Jr., Roy W. Staley; his grandchildren Leslie Blackwell-Vendzuh, Lisa Blackwell-Roe, Jessica Cockerham, Jenna Cockerham, Carolyn Swart, Ashley Swart, Megan Staley and Juanita Staley; and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Fred Staley and sister Della Staley and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Dale honorably served his country in the United States Air Force as an Airmen First Class from 1959 to 1967. He also retired from General Motors V-8 plant, Flint, Michigan after 30 years. Dale was a member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association, NRA and member of the Frankenmuth Conservation Club. He enjoyed a wide variety of shooting sports, archery, hunting and fishing over his lifetime. He also enjoyed watching Detroit Tigers baseball, taking frequent drives to observe Michigan’s nature and wildlife, and the occasional fun at the casinos. 

Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Ray E. Staley and Doris I. (DeLisle) Staley; siblings, Earl, Lloyd, Robert, Martha (Staley) Hascall, Mollyann (Staley) Miller and Darlene (Staley) Ostrander.

Dale will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan, with full military honors. No funeral or wake will occur per Dale’s wishes. Donations can be made in his name to the Danny Thomas St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital.
