Dale Edward Neil

NEIL, Dale Edward, age 64, of Fenton, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Beaumont Hospitals, Royal Oak. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Pastor Dale Swihart officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army. Dale was born January 11, 1947 in Flint the son of the late Leroy and Violet (Klinger) Neil. He was a 1965 graduate of Fenton High School. Dale married Marilyn Pass in Fenton on December 6, 1980. He was employed for 40 years by Consumer Energy in quality control until his retirement in 2006. In addition, Dale was a member of Utility Workers Union, Local #119, Burton. He was a collector of many things, jukeboxes, vinyl records and miniature classic cars. He played and coached softball, was a great sports fan, especially Red Wings Hockey and Tiger Baseball. Dale will be remembered as a great negotiator for family and friends. He was a helpful man who loved a good challenge. Dale will be missed dearly, and remembered forever. Surviving are his loving wife, Marilyn; 4 children, Denise Congdon (Jeff) of Montrose, Angie Silver (Chuck) of Dearborn, Jarrod Becker of Delray Beach, FL, Brandi Neil (Brian Webb) of Fenton; grandson, Garrett Congdon; sister, Linda Behrendt (Jim) of Swartz Creek; 3 brothers, Michael Neil of Arizona, Robert Neil of Flint, Marty Neil of Fenton; very dear friend, Charlie Miller of Flint; his pet parrot, Rocky; and several nieces and nephews.
