Dale Cudworth

CUDWORTH, Dale Elton Harold - Age 78, of Linden, died January 1, 2019 surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Linden Presbyterian Church, 119 West Broad Street, Linden with Rev. Dawn Russell officiating. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton and 12 PM - 1 PM Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Linden Presbyterian Church or the Dale Cudworth Scholarship Fund c/o Linden High School. Dale was born in 1940 in Detroit, the son of Wilson and Shirley (Huard) Cudworth. He married his beloved wife Leatha, of 54 years, in Royal Oak after they met while teaching. Dale earned a Bachelor's Degree from Michigan State University and a Master's Degree from Eastern Michigan University. Mr. Cudworth was a beloved teacher at Linden Community Schools, retiring after 32 years. He was an active member of Linden Presbyterian Church, where he sang in the choir, was an Elder, a Youth Group Leader, and active in the Men's Club. Dale was also a member of the Linden Masonic Lodge. Dale was a generous person with a caring heart that he shared frequently with those in need whether it be clothes, a meal, a ride or just to talk. He spent much of his time volunteering at the schools, through the church, with the American Red Cross and the Argentine Volunteer Fire Department. He will be remembered for his compassionate heart and that he always had a kind story to share with whomever he ran into. He is survived by his wife, Leatha; daughters, Kimberly (Kevin) McCarthy of Novi, Michelle (Rod) Crain of Linden; grandchildren, Alexandria, Aidan, Alyssa; several nieces and nephews.
