Dakota Thomas Taubitz

Dakota Taubitz, age 26, of Cadillac, formerly of Swartz Creek, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025. A funeral service will take place 12:00 PM on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Faith Missionary Church, 1327 N Elms Rd, Flint, MI 48532. Pastor Brent Kriesch will preside. Visitation will take place from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 23 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek and again from 11:00 AM until the time of service Friday at the church. Dakota was born on June 16, 1998 in Southfield, MI the son of Christopher and Kristen (Evans) Taubitz. He graduated from Swartz Creek High School, Class of 2016. Dakota continued his education at Baker College where he earned his associates degree in Mechatronics engineering. He was a hardworking, kindhearted man with an infectious laugh. Dakota was a competitive swimmer during high school and in his free time he enjoyed golfing and classic cars.  

He is survived by his parents, Christopher and Kristen Taubitz; seven siblings, Amanda (Rob) Montgomery, Nick (Jenn) Taubitz, CJ (Sarah) Taubitz, Dillon Taubitz, Brady Taubitz, Noah Taubitz and Sarah Taubitz; grandparents, Bernice Taubitz, Kathy and Paul Kastle, Virgil and Cheryl Evans; nieces and nephews, Jada, Kensley and Logan Montgomery, Griffin and Harper Taubitz; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
