Daisy W. Walkup

March 21, 1923 — December 17, 2023

Swartz Creek

Daisy was born in Sandstone, West Virginia on March 22, 1923. She was over one hundred and doing very well.  Unfortunately, on December 5th., she had a terrible fall and was placed in Compassus Hospice of Genesys.  By December 8th., her daughter, Deborah, took care of her at home.  On the morning of December 17th., Deborah and a friend Brenda were caring for her.  Daisy died suddenly in a peaceful sleep, entering the "unseen world".

Daisy is survived by her daughter, Deborah, her granddaughter, Tamara Tucker of North Adams, MI., brothers, Gene Ayers and wife Beatrice of Beckley, West Virginia, sister-in-law, Lorene Ayers of Grand Ledge, and two special nieces: Peggy Williams of Covington, VA., and Shirley Folkersen of Dayton KY. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis; parents, Charles and Sallie Ayers of Sandstone, West Virginia; a sister, Ruby Kessler of Lansing, MI and eight brothers: Charles, Grover, Edward, Jennings, Fred, Kenneth, John Robert.
Daisy loved to cook large Southern meals, entertain family parties, celebrate holidays, and all the goodness of her family life. She read almost everyday, loved the mysteries of J.D. Robb and especially the psalms.  Her favorite was the Twenty-Third Psalm and she often quoted the end, saying this was how to live a spiritual life: " Surely goodness and mercy  will follow me all the days of my life.  And I will dwell forever in the house of the Lord."

Please donate to your favorite charity in memory of a very lovely lady, who lived a long a beautiful life.

No services will be held, arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.
