Cynthia K. Carpenter

Cynthia Carpenter, age 77, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Family will have a private ceremony, please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Cynthia was born on February 24, 1948, in Petoskey, Michigan to the late Vernon & Betty (Burrows) Rulason. She attended Davison High School, class of 1965. Cynthia was one of the first female welders to hire at GM Truck & Bus. She retired in 2003. Cynthia married Franklin "Frank" on September 4, 1965; together they were blessed with their 5 children. Frank preceded her in death on October 11, 2003.

Cynthia had an adventurous spirit; she enjoyed car rides and traveling. Her heart always belonged to upper Michigan, where she was born and raised. While visiting Petoskey and other cities and towns she liked to check out small shops and walk on the Michigan shoreline. Above all she cherished her family. Cynthia will be dearly missed for her big heart as her love knew no end.

She is survived by her loving children, Dan (Cindi) Carpenter, Bridget (Steve) Carpenter, Gretchen (Michael) Carpenter, Heidi (John) Rowe and Christopher (Nikki) Carpenter; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Cynthia is further survived by many other dear family members too numerous to list but never forgotten. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant grandson, Adam; husband, Frank; life companion, Paul Bowker; grandparents, Clarence (Ruby) Stanley; stepfather, Howard Motter and her four brothers, Den, Don, Bill and Mark.
