Curtis L. Sharp

SHARP, Curtis L.  Age 73, of Gaines/Swartz Creek, died Saturday, September 20, 2003 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at Swartz Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. J.D. Landis officiating. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be from 6-9 PM Sunday and 2-5 and 7-9 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Mr. Sharp was born May 28, 1930 in Gaines Township on the Sharp Family Farm, the son of Howard L. and Cecil F. (Plumb) Sharp. He had resided in Gaines/Swartz Creek area his entire life. Mr. Sharp married Carolyn H. Huff on February 4, 1956 in Duffield, MI. Mr. Sharp attended Swartz Creek High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea. He retired from Earl C. Smith Trucking and was a member of the Teamsters. Surviving are: wife, Carolyn Huff Sharp of Gaines; two sisters, Claribel Sharp Phillips Hoffman and companion, Don Rickabus of Linden; Dorothy Sharp Tibbits Jones and husband, Norm of Gaines; sister-in-law, Reva Sharp of Corunna; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Sharp was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Carol Marie Sharp; sisters, Pauline Sharp Proffer and Geraldine Sharp Malachowski; three brothers, Ralph Sharp, Charles Sharp and Kenneth L.
