MERRITT, Cratie B. "Jane" - age 101, of Fenton, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Services will be held 11 AM Monday, February 27, 2012 at Fenton United Methodist Church, 119 S. Leroy St., Fenton with Rev. Bill Donahue officiating. Interment will be held at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9 AM until the time of service Monday at the church. Jane was born November 29, 1910 in Gamaliel, KY, the daughter of Thomas Denton and Lassie (Copus) Hale. She was a member of Fenton United Methodist Church and was the co-owner of Twin Gardens restaurant for over 25 years. Surviving are: son, Fred E. Darter and wife, Janet of Rochester Hills; three grandchildren, Rick Darter, Robyn (Ken) Gorinski, Ronald Darter; five great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Fred L. Darter, L.J. Merritt; two brothers, Ernie Hale and Harold Hale; four sisters, Esther Cunningham, Beulah Urbanowicz, Sophie Beck, and Susie Windish.
