Coy Jones

JONES, Coy "Sonny" William - Age 74, of Montrose, died Sunday May 2, 2021. Funeral services will be held 12PM Saturday, May 8 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Russell Park  officiating. Burial to follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 11AM Saturday until time of service at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to Flushing Christian Outreach Center. Sonny was born November 29, 1946 in Goodland, IN., the son of Coy and Pansy (Edwards) Jones. Sonny proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a truck driver. He enjoyed woodworking and was a talented carpenter. Sonny enjoyed small and large scale carpentry, building full size Amish buggies to toy cars. When he was younger, Sonny worked on farms as a handy man for some years. surviving are; daughter; Wendy (Nicholas) Carrell-Norman; grandchildren, Austin Carrell, Amber Carrell; great granddaughter Isabella Carrell all of Harrison. He is also survived by his sister; Shirley (Thomas) Mathis of Flushing and many nieces and nephews He is preceded in death by his parents, Coy and Pansy Jones; sisters, Joyce Keller, Loretta Woodbury and nephew, Mark Lynn Mathis.
