Funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday, December 30 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Flint. Visitation will be held 10:30-11 AM Saturday. Burial at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Those desiring may make contributions to the family. Neil was born August 25, 1957 in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Richard and Catherine (Harper) Person. He married Bethany Smith on February 10, 2000. He had worked for Michigan Housing and Window Cleaning. He enjoyed fishing, hiking trails, football and basketball. Neil leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Bethany Rodgers; daughters, India Newman of Flint, Constance Smith of Texas, Erica Barnes of Arkansas, Catherine (Ronnie) Washington of Flint; 27 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; sisters, Carolyn (Lawrence) Smith, Vernell Wimbush, Annette Rodgers, Shelia Vine; two brothers, Fate Rodgers, Ernest Rodgers; very dear friend, Reynold Swilley; Neil was preceded in death by his parents and sister Barbara.
