Connie Jo Ozinga, age 68, formerly of Zeeland, Michigan, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024 at her home in Swartz Creek.

Connie was born on September 3, 1955 in Zeeland, Michigan, the daughter of Bernard and Carol (Middel) Ozinga. She graduated from Zeeland High School with the class of 1973. Continuing her education, Connie pursued her undergraduate studies at Michigan State University and later obtained her master's degree in library science from the University of Michigan. On September 30, 1978, she married Thomas Elmore in Holland, Michigan.

Connie embarked on a fulfilling career in library services starting in Upper Arlington, OH and dedicated over 40 years to various libraries including locations in Holland, MI; Seymour, IN; Rochester, MN; Elk Hart, IN; and ultimately retiring as the Library Director from Commerce Township, MI. She was a voracious reader, and her love of books was evident throughout her life. Additionally, she cherished moments at Little Glen Lake and found joy in quilting.

She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Elmore; daughter, Julie Elmore; father, Bernard (Lynda) Ozinga; brothers, John and William Ozinga; as well as several in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Connie was preceded in death by her son, George Ozinga-Elmore; and mother, Carol Ozinga.

A private memorial service will take place. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct memorial contributions to any Friend's of the Library locations of your choosing.
