Van Leuven, Colin William - Age 68, of Fenton, died Thursday, July 25, 2019. Funeral service will be held 4:00 PM Monday, July 29, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Mark Cox officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 2:00 PM until the time service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to TowersCares Foundation or Michigamme English Setters Club Rescue Program.
Colin was born December 19, 1950 in Highland Park, the son of William C. and Shirley Anne (Cinader) Van Leuven. He was a 1969 graduate of Kimball High School in Royal Oak. He married Patricia "Patty" Martin September 10, 1993 in Fenton. He had been employed at Ford Motor Company for 10 years and then was co owner and Sales Engineer for Valmec, INC. He also was an outdoors writer for the Tri County times, Sporting Classic Daily, and Woods and Water.
Surviving are: his wife, Patricia "Patty"; children, Kara Doll of Caladonia, Bryan (Paty) Shipway of High Point, NC, Jeffrey (Kristie) Shipway of Northville, and Julie (John "J.B.") Ortman of McFarland, WI; 9 grandchildren; siblings, Karen (Joseph) DeMars of Fenton, Lawrence (Sharon) Van Leuven of Columbiaville, Bradley (Jackie) Van Leuven of Fenton, and Krystn Tatus; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Richard Tatus. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
