Clyde Striler

STRILER, Clyde J. - age 81, of Flint, died Saturday, July 2, 2016. A memorial gathering will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 13 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in the Angel Hall, 310 N. Cherry St., Flushing. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel. Mr. Striler was born February 8, 1935 in Flint, the son of Clyde O. and Jewel B. (Kirkwood) Striler. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. Mr. Striler retired from Flint Osteopathic Hospital as the Building Maintenance Supervisor. He had also worked as a Corrections Officer for the State of Michigan at the Thumb Correctional Facility in Lapeer and owned and operated an upholstery business with his wife. He was a past President of the Westwood Heights Lion's Club. Surviving are: wife, Clairene Striler; four children, Jeffrey Striler, Christopher Striler, Robin (Kenneth) Taylor, and Kirk Striler; granddaughter, Kendra Taylor; five siblings, Orvel (Ruth) Striler, Volen (Caroline) Striler, Donald Kirkwood, David (Debbie) Kirkwood, and Violet (Robert) Stilson; many nieces and nephews.
