Totzke, Clifford Jr. (Cliff), age 69, of Fenton, passed away January 23, 2021. He, along with 419,000 (and counting) Americans, died of complications from COVID-19. His absence is already felt by all who know and love him. For 35 years, Cliff was a teacher, coach, and driving instructor at Linden High School. Being an educator was his true calling, and his passion for the subject matter was only outpaced by his devotion to his students. In retirement, Cliff loved watching the Chicago Bears and Michigan State basketball, crafting the perfect gin and tonic (especially when enjoyed with his father-in-law or son-in-law), and taking road trips; but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Cliff is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Julie; daughter and son-in-law, Mallory and Paul Newall; beloved granddaughter, Charlotte Newall; stepfather, Sam Gaul; father-in-law, Ivan Fidler; siblings and siblings-in-law: Jean and Peter, Isla, Rob and Rhona, Bruce and Lori; nieces and nephews: Aaron and Julie, Bill, Stephanie and Abe, Dayna and Raphi, Megan and Sam; plus many close friends, from Michigan, to Maryland, to South Carolina. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jeannette Gaul; father, Clifford Totzke, Sr.; and mother-in-law, Connie Fidler. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 28, 2021, with only immediate family present, A Live stream of the service may be viewed on Cliff's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a contribution to the charity or local school scholarship fund of your choice. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the COVID-19 and ICU nursing staff at McLaren Flint.
