MATTORD, Clemens Mose "Clem", age 80, of Fenton, died Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30AM Monday, December 31, 2007 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. The family will receive friends 9:30 AM Monday until time of mass at church. Visitation will be 3-8PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. The family invites everyone for memory sharing at 7PM Sunday at the funeral home. Clem was born February 8, 1927 in Iron Mountain the son of Joseph and Amelia (Hupy) Mattord. He married Theresa "Faye" Wilson on July 16, 1949 in Nadeau, Michigan. He was employed by Yellow Freight as a truck driver and retired after 30 years of service. The Mattord family was the proprietors of Giles Restaurant for a number of years. Clem had lived in the Fenton area since 1955, was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus #2418, Fenton Moose Lodge and the Eagles Club of Fenton. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Faye; 7 children, June Gatewood (Jim) of Fenton, Judith Yelle (Albert) of Fenton, Janet Petts of Fenton, Joyce Malzahn (Randy) of Owosso, Jayne Mattord of Fenton, Joanne Huntley of Fenton, Jeffrey Mattord of Fenton; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Marion Poisson-Jenkins of Dafter, Vivian Krummel of Florida, Donna Bellefeuil (John) of Hermansville; 2 brothers, Patrick Mattord (Sandy) of California, Daniel Jenkins (Pat) of Carney. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sons, John, Joe, Jim Mattord; 3 brothers, Bob, Earl, and Hank Mattord.
