ROCKAFELLOW, Clayton Ralph "Rocky" - age 78 of Fenton, passed away September 29, 2021. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place 11AM Saturday, November 6 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will be held 10 AM until time of service at the funeral home. The family asks that those who are not vaccinated wear masks at the visitation and funeral. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Clayton was born August 24, 1943 in Carson City, the son of Ralph and Marion (Miller) Rockafellow. Receiving his Associate's Degree from Ferris College, Clayton started his apprenticeship and career at General Motors. Clayton met his love Barbara Troyer at Ferris and they were married March 12, 1965 in Plymouth. Barbara preceded Clayton in death and he started a new chapter marrying Janice Brannon on April 16, 1988, in Flint. Clayton enjoyed bowling and spent many years camping with his wife and children, extended family and longtime friends Bob and Carol Hieneman. An engineer at heart, Clayton was the family 'gadget man,' always improving other peoples' designs with a few tweaks of his own. His final project was adding a cup holder and hook for his phone on his walker. Clayton often shared nuggets of wisdom and humor from his favorite publication, Reader's Digest. Clayton "Rocky" worked as a Tool and Diemaker at General Motors in Flint where he ended up retiring from "Chevy in the Hole" with over 40 years of service. Clayton is survived by his wife, Janice and stepson Matt (Marnie) Brannon and second wife, Sherry and their two children Clifford Rockafellow and Trisha (Ray) Winn and his three children, Laura (Giovanni) Griswold, Ross (Heidi) Rockafellow, Amy (Nicco) Georgopulos with his wife Barbara; siblings, Janet Whitter and Barbara Davis; nine grandchildren, Hannah & Hope Rockafellow, Grant & Aidan Griswold, Kaylynn & Kyler Winn, Racquel & Bella Rockafellow, and Brayden Connolly; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and family. Clayton is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Merle Rockafellow and first wife, Barbara Rockafellow.
