Claude Kirkey

Kirkey, Claude Dennis  - Age 80, of  Flint, died July 14, 2022. Private family services will be held with burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly . Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc.  Dennis was born October 29, 1941 in Flint, Michigan, the son of  Claude and Beatrice (Sturdvant) Kirkey. He was a graduate of Fenton High School and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. While serving in the Army he met Ute Mayer in Germany and they married October 12, 1963 in Fenton. He and his father were partners in opening up Kirkey's Shoes in Downtown Fenton.  He retired from Weyco in 2006 having worked in Sales. He enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting, and All sports.  Surviving are: wife of nearly 58 years, Ute; daughter Claudine (Ryan) Howard of Alpena; grandchildren, Thorin and Connell; brothers, Fredrick (Kathy) Kirkey, Kenneth (Julie) Kirkey; nieces and nephews.
