Clata M. Tyson

July 29, 1965 — June 20, 2006

TYSON,  Clata M., age 40 of Gaines, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at home.  Mr. Tyson was born in Zanesville, Ohio on July 29, 1965 the son of Clata E. and Freda (Mossholder) Tyson.  He graduated from Swartz Creek High School in 1984 then moved to Florida where he lived for 20 years before moving back to Michigan. He was a plumber by trade and worked in construction and plumbing. Mr. Tyson enjoyed hot rods and  was an avid Nascar racing fan. Surviving is his mother Freda Sothen and Step-father Galen of Swartz Creek; 2 sisters;  Jeannie Cummings and husband Kevin of Swartz Creek, Sharman Ketchum of Durand. 1 brother Kenneth Tyson of Gaines. 1 step-sister,  Sherry Abrams and husband Joel in Texas. 3 step-brothers; Galen Sothen, Jr. in Ohio, Gary Sothen and wife Karen in Kentucky and Ronald Sothen in Toledo, Ohio.  Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews.  Cremation has taken place.  There will be a memorial celebration of his life 7:00 P.M. Friday, June 23, 2006 at the Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Rd. Chapel  8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek.  Rev.  George Warson will officiate.  Clata's family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. Friday until service time.
