Clarence E. Scharrer

SCHARRER, Clarence E. 'Dutch' -- Age 83, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, February 19, 2007 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, February 22 at Grace Lutheran Church, 2526 Corunna Rd., Flint, Pastor Walter Oelhafen officiating. The family will receive friends at the church at 9:30 AM Thursday. Interment in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday, 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek.  Mr. Scharrer was born December 28, 1923 in Birch Run, the son of Herman and Lydia (Zehnder) Scharrer. He had resided in Swartz Creek and Flint Township for many years. He retired from G.M. V-8 Engine Plant. Mr. Scharrer was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Surviving are: wife, GloryAnn (Hillmer) Scharrer; three children, David Scharrer and wife Chris of Fenton, Bethany Hoy of Grand Blanc, MaryEllen Finateri of Flint Township; six grandchildren, David Scharrer Jr. and wife Jami of Bloomfield Hills, Amy and husband Matt Moeller of West Bend, WI, Michael Scharrer and wife Brooke of Farmington Hills, Michele Finateri of Holt, Kellie and husband John Campbell of Novi, Mark Hoy of Novi; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Megan and Kate Moeller, David Scharrer III; brothers, Arnold Scharrer of Frankenmuth, Edgar Scharrer of Birch Run, Marvin Scharrer and wife Lorene of Minden City; sisters, Kathleen and husband Louie Weiss of Frankenmuth, Doris and husband Robert Schlafke of Frankenmuth; brother-in-law, Eddie Weiss of Frankenmuth; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Pierce) Scharrer; son, Mark Scharrer; and sisters, Lucille Weiss and Carolyn Scharrer; sisters-in-law, Alice Scharrer and Wilma Scharrer.
