POLK, Clarence P. - Age 67, of Burton, died Friday, January 28, 2005 at home. Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Rev. Berniece Matejcek officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until service time. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society. He was born June 14, 1937 in Flint, the son of James B. and Wonet (Yancy) Polk. He was a graduate of Flint Central High School. He retired from GM Flint Engine Plant where he was employed for 36 years as a Machinist. He was an avid car and gun collector and enthusiast. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and building projects. Surviving are: 2 sons, Dr. James (Terry) Polk of Virginia Beach, VA, Clarence Polk Jr. of Grand Junction, CO; daughter, Shari Polk-Nash of Grand Blanc; his life partner of 23 years, Dolores Ellsworth of Burton; his 1st wife, Sharron Hogan of Grand Blanc; 8 grandchildren, Arrin Nash, Austin Nash, Devin Polk, Bryce Polk, Cailin Polk, Adam Peck, Katie and Anna Torrey; 4 sisters, Betty Depro, Christine Green, Elizabeth Polk, Hazel Statler; many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are: his loving Ellsworth family, Darrell, Jon, Patrick, Franklin, Charles, Charlene, Annette and Deborah.
