Clarence A. LUCIUS

LUCIUS, Clarence A., age 85, of Swartz Creek died Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Genesys Health Park. Clarence was born in Chesaning on January 12, 1924 the son of August and Mary (Titdof) Lucius. He married Dolores M. Birchmeier on June 16, 1951 in New Lothrup. Clarence was employed by St. Joseph Hospital in Flint for 33 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WW II. Clarence was a loving, caring husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are his wife: Dolores, his 5 sons: Dennis (Faith) Lucius of Fenton, Gary (Alice) Lucius of Gaines, Keith (Rene') Lucius of Holly, Kenneth (Marie) Lucius of Holly, Chris (April) Lucius of Flint 2 daughters: Joy (Sean) Doyle of Swartz Creek and Karen (Karl) Hense of Grand Blanc. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Joseph, a daughter Gloria Cooper, a granddaughter, Angela Cooper and 4 sisters and 4 brothers. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 14, 2009 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Swartz Creek. Burial will take place 11:30 A.M. Monday, November 16, 2009 at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Friends may visit the family at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Rd. Chapel from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday and Friday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be offered to the family.
