Clarence was born June 20, 1929 in Flint, the son of Henry and Elsie (Bartle) Heidenberger. He was a 1947 graduate of Flint Tech High School. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He married Georgianna Jean Bouchard October 21, 1950 in Flint and she preceded him in death April 2, 2018. Clarence had resided on Silver Lake in Fenton since 1985 after moving there from Grand Blanc. He retired from Perry Printing after 47 years of service. He also wintered some 25+ years in Sun City West, AZ. He was a long-time member of Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc. He also was a member of the Fenton Moose Lodge.
Clarence or “Heidi” as he was often called was a kind, compassionate and patient man, husband and father. He was admired for his easy going nature with a great smile and a twinkle in his eye.
He was passionate about his Michigan Wolverines football, along with the Detroit Lions. His other hobby was playing cards, especially Euchre with family and even the computer in his day. It helped that he was especially good at it! He also loved living at the lake and enjoyed the sunsets there for almost 40 years until the last 9 months of his life. He led by example simply by his quiet demeanor and unassuming nature and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are: his children, Linda (Bill) Gould of Grand Blanc, Robert "Bob" (Mary) Heidenberger of Pleasanton, CA, Cathy (Steven) Monroe of Allegan and Ken (Donna) Heidenberger of Sunnyvale, TX; grandchildren, Tracy (Vince) Racanelli, Kristy Heidenberger, Brooks (Britt) Monroe and Chase Heidenberger; great grandchildren, Ellie, Kennedy, Dean, Valerie, Sophie and Otto; sister, Bonnie Terbush of Flushing; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; grandsons, Adam Clodfelter and Joshua Gould; brothers, Donald and James Heidenberger.
Family would like to thank the staff at Fenton Vicinia Gardens Memory Care and The Medical Team Hospice there, especially Kim, Melissa and Clarissa. You are all angels on earth. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
