POST, Clare R.  Age 88, of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, March 28, 2004 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor Jerry Foster officiating. Interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon. Visitation will be held 12-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Post was born February 17, 1916 in Swartz Creek, the son of David and Ermie (Herrick) Post. He was a 1935 graduate of Swartz Creek High School and had resided in Swartz Creek most of his life. He married Dorothy M. Snell on August 21, 1937 in Flint and she preceded him in death on December 12, 2001. Mr. Post retired from General Motors  V8 Plant in January of 1980 as a Tool and Die Machinist after 31 years of service. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 659 and a former member of the United Methodist Church of Swartz Creek. Surviving are: two sons, Ronald C. Post and wife, Gale of Swartz Creek, David L. Post and wife, April of Lapeer; four loving grandchildren, David M. Post and wife, Sara, Michele C. and husband, Mark Hyde, Brian D. Post and fiancâ?se, Joanne Curtis, Brandon L. Post of the U.S. National Guard, currently stationed in Iraq and his wife, Carolyn; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Edith and husband, George Johnson of Durand/Florida. He was also preceded in death by: his parents; infant daughter, Sharon Joy Post; brother, Carl Post. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of the fifth and twelfth floors of McLaren Regional Medical Center.
