Clara Irene MUNRO

March 25, 1931 — August 14, 2012

MUNRO, Clara Irene - age 81, of Flint, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Genesys Health Park. Services will be held 2 PM Friday, August 17, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint with Rev. Jason S. Rohde officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 12 PM - 2 PM Friday at the funeral homes. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Clara Irene Munro Memorial Fund. Clara was born in Flint on March 25, 1931, the daughter of Phillip and Mary Miller. She resided in Flint and Swartz Creek her entire life. She married Donald Munro, Sr. October 30, 1949. After 58 years of marriage he preceded her in death on October 7, 2007. They were blessed with two sons. Don Munro, Jr who preceded her in death April 29, 1993 and survived by son, Ron Munro of Fenton; grandchildren, Rachelle (Ed) Kustrzyk of Royal Oak, Tiffany Munro and Tony Norris of Grand Blanc; Ryan (Stephanie) Munro of Fenton and Holly Munro of Tallahassee, FL; two great-granddaughters, Violet Everly Norris and Berkley Abilene Munro; brother, Harold Miller of Swartz Creek; several nieces and nephews; special loved ones Rhonda (Munro) Livingston of Grand Blanc, Terry Munro of Fenton, Debra Munro of FL, Larry Bush of Swartz Creek and many dear friends of many years. She was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, William Munro. Clara was a partner with her family in Creamline Dairy and Farms and was employed at the dairy. She was a charter member of Cross Church. Gospel music was an important part of her life. When she was 8 years old she asked her father for a piano and from there on she taught herself piano and organ and used this God given talent at Cross Church for the 50 years she attended there. Clara also sang in the church choir, taught Sunday school and was President of Cross Ladies Guild for several years. She loved attending and supporting Don, Jr and Ron in many activities and sports for their 12 years at Hamady Schools.
