Clara Mabel BREWER

BREWER, Clara M. - Of Flint Township, age 89, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Avalon Hospice in Flint. Funeral service will be held 3PM Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, G-5176 W. Court St., Flint Twp., Pastor Watkins officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family. Visitation will be 4-9PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, MI and on Saturday from 2PM until the time of service at the church. Clara Mabel Coy was born May 14, 1920. She married Melvin Brewer on May 18, 1936 in Genesee County. He preceded her in death. She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She loved sewing and spending time with her family. Clara is survived by daughter, Betty Jean Markley of NC; son, David Brewer of Flint; granddaughter, whom she raised, Carol Ann Markley; daughter-in-law, Beatrice Brewer; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin; daughters, Carol Brewer, Barbara Alexander; son, Fred Brewer.
