Christine Landis

LANDIS, Christine - Age 82, of Swartz Creek, passed away Monday, October 7, 2024. Committal Service will be held at 1:30 PM Monday October 21 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Services provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. 

Christine was born June 16, 1942 in Baghdad, Iraq, the daughter of Michael and Maria (Gradowska) Kieltyka. She came to the U.S. from England in 1951. Christine married her beloved husband, Raymond Landis on May 22, 1965 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on August 14, 2021, having shared 56 years of marriage. She retired from Comerica Bank, having worked as a teller and customer service representative. Christine taught CCD at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church where she was a parishioner. At St. Mary's she also enjoyed helping at book sales and belonged to the ladies prayer group. Christine loved reading and was proud of her large book collection. She loved going camping with her husband Ray and her family when her children were young. Christine loved spending time with her family and enjoyed spending time in her garden. 

Surviving are: her two children, Elizabeth (Raymond) Bryant of Holly, and Jon (Marilyn) Landis of Livonia; and three grandchildren, Meghan, Callie, and Matthew. Christine will also be missed by her best friend, Sue; and special neighbors, Dan and Candis. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Bruno, Joseph, and Genevie.
