Christine BELZER

April 17, 1923 — February 5, 2009

BELZER, Christine (Bove) -- Age 85, of Swartz Creek, passed away at her home the evening of February 5, 2009. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, February 9 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek, Rev. Steven Mattson celebrant. Cremation will follow with interment in Pennsylvania at a later time. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-9 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, with a Vigil Service at 7 PM Sunday evening; and visitation 10 AM until the time of the mass Monday at church. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be offered to the Salvation Army, The Cappuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit, or St. Mary's Church. Christine was born in Ridgway, PA the daughter of John and Mary (Carrick) Bove on April 17, 1923. She married Frank Jack Belzer on June 11, 1945. When he was discharged from the Army they moved to Detroit and then later Roseville, MI. Christine was a parishioner at St. Angela's Church and a member of the Altar Society. She worked at Chatham's Supermarket and retired before she moved to Swartz Creek in 1992. Chris loved flowers and gardening throughout her life. Christine is survived by her five children, Jack of Flint, Lou (Donna) of Owosso, Marilyn (Earl) Soules of Midland, Renee Lamantia of Redwood City, CA, Tom (Linda) of Denver, CO; her brother, Mike (Libby) Bove of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren, Tanya Noland, Sarah Belzer, Frances Belzer, Kristina Belzer, Greg Lamantia, Carly Belzer, and Ian Belzer. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sisters, Theresa Servidea and Philomena Solomon; and her brothers, Fred Bove and John Bove.
