HURN, Chester "Chet" - age 80, of Fenton, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Visitation will be held from 1-4 and 6-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association. Chet was born May 19, 1928 in Detroit, the son of Ernest E. and Gertrude L. (Colby) Hurn. He was a graduate of Denby High School in Detroit and received a bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Lawrence Technical Institute. Chet was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Bethlehem Steel as Chief Draftsman where he was instrumental in the designs of the Pontiac Silver dome and the Mackinaw Bridge. After retirement Chet work for the State Bank of Fenton for many years. He enjoyed boating, fishing, golf, and travel. Surviving are: two nephews, Randy Clarke and wife, Shirley of Eastpointe, Dan Clarke of OK; special friends, Mark and Terry Tibbits, John and Val Bradley, Vicky Kenewell, Shelly Ascherl, Dennis and Tiki Finney and Ann Deemer.
