Cherilyn Marie Shortt

SHORTT, Cherilyn Marie - age 68 of Swartz Creek, died June 2, 2024. Private services will be held. Cherilyn was born July 4, 1955, in Owosso, MI, the daughter of Raymond and Dorothy (McKay) Shack. She was a graduate of Owosso High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. Cherilyn was an insurance agent with CHL Insurance in Owosso for many years. She enjoyed fishing, camping and exercising. Cherilyn ran the Crim Race in Flint for many years and completed a half-marathon.  Surviving are husband, Jim Shortt; son, Eric (Dorothy) Floate; daughter, Jessica (Troy) Hodges; stepson, Duane (Shannon) Shortt; step-daughter, Lisa (Justin) Callaghan, step-son, Bryan Floate, Bruce (Lisa) Floate; nine grandchildren; five siblings, Rajean Shack, Mark (Gaye) Shack, Tony (Diane) Shack, Steve Shack, and Tracy (Brad) Hissong.
