Grand Blanc

DICKINSON, Cheri Hasia, age 63, of Grand Blanc, peacefully passed away on February 12, 2025. She will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her career, and her community. Cheri was born on July 6, 1961, in Flint, Michigan, to Morris Abraham and Peppy (Naczycz) Rosenthal. She earned a Master's of Social Work from the University of Michigan, dedicating professionally to the well-being of others. She worked as a clinical therapist for Oakland Psychological Clinic and the Flint Jewish Federation. Outside of work, she served as an advisor to the Flint Region Temple Youth Group. Cheri had a passion for travel, books, and tchotchkes. As a daughter of a Holocaust survivor, she was committed to the Jewish community, tradition, and history through her work with descendants of Holocaust survivors and locating lost family member's in an effort to rebuild her own family tree. Cheri was also an enthusiastic supporter of the arts, serving as a donor and volunteer to the Flint Institute of Arts and Flint Art Fair for many years. Cheri is survived by her three beloved children, Jordan, Erica, and Rachel Dickinson; her mother, Peppy Rosenthal; her brother, Zalman Rosenthal; her former spouse, Martin Dickinson; and her life-long friend, Anita Anderson, along with Anita's children, Emily and Addy Anderson. She was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Rosenthal, and her father, Morris Rosenthal. Cheri's impact in her community and the love she shared with her family and friends will be fondly remembered. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Sunday, February 16 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, located at 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473, with Rabbi Yisroel Weingarten officiating. Interment will follow at Machpelah Cemetery in Flint. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Cheri's memory may be made to the Flint Institute of Arts (www.flintarts.org) or Food Bank of Eastern Michigan (www.fbem.org), both organizations she enjoyed volunteering at.
