Charlotte Novak

NOVAK, Charlotte Vinnetta - age 67, of Lennon, died Monday, December 1, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, December 5, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor Jim Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Yerian Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Wednesday and 1-4 and 5-9 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Children's Miracle Network. Mrs. Novak wan born August 18, 1947 in Tyronza, AR, the daughter of Martin Ira and Edith Inez (Young) Smith. She was a graduate of Bendle High School and earned an Associate Degree in Nursing. Charlotte married Thomas John Novak on December 17, 1971 and he preceded her in death on April 7, 2000. Mrs. Novak retired from Hurley Medical Center as a Registered Nurse after 44 years of service. She was the President of the Nursing and Pharmacy Union for 31 years. Mrs. Novak was a member of First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek and the Eagles Club. Surviving are: Three children, Karen (Joseph) Howart of Lennon, Stephen Novak of Lakeland, FL, Jeffrey Novak of Lennon; mother, Aubrey Thompson of FL; siblings, Harry (Rose) Thompson, Jr. of Burton, Annie T. of Burton, Sharon (Danny) Lawrence of Linden, Gaye Walker of AR; cousins, Judy (Bill) Owen and Jan (Pete) Hommen. She was preceded in death by: mother, Edith; husband, Tom, father, Harry Thompson, brother, Marvin Smith, mother-in-law, Josephine Novak; father, Martin Smith; father-in-law, Frank Novak; niece, Danielle Smith.
