Charlotte Joan DAVIS

DAVIS, Charlotte Joan - Age 77, of Flint, died Sunday, April 4, 2010 at her residence. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM Thursday, April 8, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton, with Fr. Bosco Padamattummal celebrating. Burial at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Tuesday from 5-8 PM and Wednesday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM. A vigil service will be held 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the DAV. Mrs. Davis was born February 11, 1933 in Ashton, IA, the daughter of Herman and Irene (Sleutel) Houwen. She married Lyman A. Davis December 2, 1950 in Sibley, IA and he preceded her in death December 12, 1990. She retired as the first female painter at St. Joseph Hospital. Mrs. Davis was a former member of St. Leo Catholic Church in Flint. She was also a member of the Eagles #629 and the Croatian Club. She was an avid bowler, golfer and quilt maker. Surviving are: 6 children, David and wife Lynn Davis of Fenton, Kelley and wife Sande Davis of Fenton, Sharon Wilson of Flint Township, Julie and husband Dave Pollard of Swartz Creek, Diane Davis of Byron and Steven and wife Alison Davis of Linden; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Katie Hanna and Joyce Tjaden both of Sibley, IA; brother, Herman Houwen of Dickens, TX; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Lyman Davis, Jr.; brother, Frank Houwen. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Mary and Sarah from Advantage Hospice.
