Charlie Kirk

KIRK, Charlie G. - Age 73, of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, November 26, 2017. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Fr. Gene Geromel officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 2-8 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children. Charlie was born August 2, 1944 in Searcy, AR, the son of Charlie G. Kirk, Sr. and Mildred (Maples) Kirk. He was a 1962 graduate of Ainsworth High School. He was veteran of the Vietnam war, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He married Nancy L. Bacon May 6, 1967 in Flint. Charlie retired from GM Plant #45 and ACC (Automotive Components Carriers) after 30 years of service. Charlie was a member of the Swartz Creek Masonic Temple and was a 32 Degree Mason and a Shriner. He also was a member of the Swartz Creek V.F.W. and was a Swartz Creek Athletics Booster. Charlie was a board member for Financial Plus Credit Union and also on the board for the Springbrook Colony.Surviving are: his wife of 50 years, Nancy L.; son, Toby and wife Kimberlia Kirk of Clawson; sister, Brenda Kirk of Flint; special cousin, John and wife Nancy Kirk of Grand Blanc; and several nieces and nephews.
